Pardon My French

Pardon My French is an album dedicated to compositions Daniel John Martin wrote in his youth, revisited today through the perspective and experience of the musician he has become.

For this project, DJM has surrounded himself with a remarkable team of musicians, bringing together leading figures from the French jazz scene and one of its great international names: Olivier Hutman on keyboards, Henri Dorina on bass, Francis Arnaud on drums, and legendary American guitarist Robben Ford.

The quintet is joined by a string quartet featuring Line Kruse and Nadine Collon on violins, Camille Beraud on viola, and Isabelle Sabot on cello. Acclaimed singer Amalya Delpierre also joins the ensemble on two tracks.

All compositions, arrangements, and lyrics are by Daniel John Martin.

Barely released, the album has already received international recognition, having been nominated for the Mzantsi Jazz Awards, the South African Jazz Awards, in two categories: Best International Recording and Best International Artist.

Pardon My French is available on all major streaming platforms.
