The Parisian Impromptu Collective
The Paris Impromptu collective was born out of a deep desire to pass the profession on to younger generations. Inspired by DJM’s own experience, having himself benefited from the mentorship of leading professionals such as Patrick Saussois and Didier Lockwood, the aim is to support young talents as they take their first steps in their careers.
This transmission takes shape by integrating these young musicians into ensembles led by more experienced artists. Together, they bring live music back to Parisian grand hotels and cafés, performing repertoire from the Great American Songbook as well as the music of Django and Stéphane.
The collective’s ambition is to foster the passing down of knowledge, skills, and repertoire from one generation to the next, while giving young musicians the opportunity to fully establish themselves as professional performers.
